Putting Green Renovation Continued....

While we were in the process of renovating the putting green, I though it would be nice to add some areas to use for chipping and putting that will mimic the surface you might find in our approaches on the golf course.

We added 2 of these areas, one on the lower side of the green and a larger one on the upper side.

These were sodded in L-93 Bentgrass

Putting Green Renovation

Its been sometime since my last post and I have a whole bunch of things to share.

 As many of you know we closed the putting green for renovation on August 15.  The putting green contained a large population of annual bluegrass, and due to its small size and heavy traffic it receives we decided to re grass it.  We selected L-93 Bentgrass to replace the old Penncrosss/Poa blend.  L-93 is what resides on our new greens and performs very well for us.

We used a granular soil fumigant to sterilize the soil, so our seedbed would be free of weed seed.
